Based on the characteristics of automotive seats in terms of purpose and user experience, this paper uses a thermal manikin to test three types of additional thermal resistance of automotive seats in the real vehicle environment, and analyses the influencing factors of the thermal resistance of automotive seats. The results show that the average additional thermal resistance values of different types of automotive seats in order from large to small are fabric seats (0.41 clo), fabric and faux leather combination seats (0.35 clo), and faux leather seats (0.31 clo). Under the condition of high thermal resistance of clothing, the seat can provide greater additional thermal resistance. The larger the seat angle, the greater the overall additional thermal resistance of the seat. The conclusions provide basic parameters for further studies on the thermal environment in vehicle cabins.
